The Entertainment Marketing Summit is Mumbrella's new conference for marketers working in the worlds of television, radio, film, publishing, music and the broader entertainment industry - and their partner agencies. The 2016 summit connected with and gained insights from local and international brand owners and marketing experts.

The most successful practitioners in the media entertainment industry presented at Mumbrella’s first Entertainment Marketing Summit, held on November 10 at The Chauvel in Paddington.

The one-day summit was a raving success, with over 40 marketing leaders and experts presenting throughout the day, a live operatic performance of Puccini’s famous aria “Nessun Dorma”, and the event trending on Twitter.

Highlights from the 2016 summit include:

  • Keynote presentation from UK-based Reemah Sakaan, director of marketing and digital at Britain's biggest commercial broadcaster ITV, who explained how the struggling brand revamped for the digital age.
  • An on-stage interview with the Godfather of music Michael Gudinski, who shared his 40-year journey with interviewer Stuart Coupe, music journalist and former band manager.
  • A panel discussion with celebrity chef Neil Perry on Australia’s burgeoning foodie culture and the opportunities for entertainment brands, with Andrew McEvoy, MD of Fairfax’s Life Media Events; Natalia Accari, Head of Marketing at Jack Daniels and Jason Fielding, CEO of agency The Sound Campaign.
  • A panel discussion with industry heavyweights, including Universal Music Group’s Global Head of New Business Olivier Robert-Murphy, who stressed the importance of the 4 Es -  engagement, experience, exclusivity and emotion.
